You say ‘Jump!’ (Recipe)

I say, ‘How high?’

These past couples days have been a mixture of energy and exhaustion. Now that I have new found energy, I push myself, then I’m exhausted. I’ll eventually find a happy medium. Hopefully.

Yesterday I experienced the digestive issues that Patti had warned me about. While it felt miserable, it also felt like cleansing. Like all this junk was just ready to… well come out. I’ll leave it at that, and wont go into too many details. haha

Aaaanyways… yesterday I baked some amazing peanut butter banana muffins, and would you believe they had NO flour or processed sugar in them?! Muffins with NO flour or sugar… doesn’t sound like it can be done, but I assure you it can. They were the moistest muffins too! I’ll post the blog page I found them on and the recipe below.

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

recipe from

  • 1 cup organic peanut butter
  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup mashed)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Chopped walnuts (or chocolate chips/raisins/sliced banana)

Preheat oven to 350*F. Line a muffin tray with liners. To mash the bananas, I started by mashing them between my fingers but I wasn’t getting the desired consistency, so I put them in a plate-bowl, and used a fork until they were fairly smooth. Then I mixed all the ingredients except the nuts in one bowl. I beat it with a fork until things were reeeaaally smooth. Then I added the nuts, and incorporated them in. Using a 1/4 measuring cup or a large cookie scoop, I filled the muffin liners, and then baked everything for 15+ min. Depending on your oven, mine needed a little longer for the muffins to set and turn golden on top. I would definitely check out the blog for better details! The tops of mine sunk, and once they cool the consistency is more muffin like, but they still aren’t your typical muffin. They are so much better for you though then the ones loaded with flour and sugar. This was a new experience for me, because I love to bake, and I used to go through unbleached flour like crazy in our house, but I don’t want to jump back into that cycle. I’m hoping to try out more of the recipes found over on her blog. Especially combining these two recipes: Raw Chocolate and Frozen Banana Truffles. There’s no processed sugar, yeah!

Last night for dinner I made teriyaki salmon over a bed of basmati rice with steamed broccoli. I’ve never really liked salmon, whereas Mister loves it, well last night he didn’t like it, and I ate almost all of mine! The teriyaki sauce was homemade, and he didn’t care for it. Poor little duffer. 😦 But I also made the My Glass is Greener juice.

This evening we had an older couple over that are some friends of our’s to watch a marriage video and answer discussion questions. The evening begins with dinner, and today I made a potato and leek soup (without dairy), baking powder biscuits, and carrot sticks. But I also had the remainder of a juice I made for Mister and myself. Today’s juice was fantastic. It’s called Glowing Skin, here is the recipe.

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 4 stalks of celery
  • 3-4 green apples
  • 2 C pineapple (4-5 pineapple spears)
  • 1 C mint

It was sooo good! I know it’s because it had a lot of fruit in it, but still! Yum!

I bought an avocado today so that for lunch tomorrow I will made myself a sandwich of avocado, red onion, lettuce, and sprouts. I’m a little nervous because I a sandwich in my mind has always been deli meat, with cheese, lettuce, and salt + pepper. So this should be interesting! I hope everyone that is still strictly on juice is doing well, you’re incredible to keep at it! For those of you like me, that have added a meal, I hope we’re all making healthy choices! Take Mike’s suggestion to have your meal at lunch time so that you’re not going to bed with food in your tummy! Oh, and if you’re dying for a baked good, check out detoxinista! Also, just in case you needed a reason to buy a food processor: banana ice cream.

Good night! 😀

Why was 6 afraid of 7?

Because 7 ate 9! (7 8 9) *badumchhhh*

Today is the first day that I incorporated solid food into my diet. I have still been juicing as well, and sharing more of my juices with the Mister, free of charge. ;P He is very happy about this, and I’m very happy with the arrangements as well. I haven’t felt dizzy or faint all day, and I had the energy to go into town to mail a return, get some groceries, and cook dinner with Mister! I feel like a new person.

I also weighed myself first thing this morning, and I’ve lost a total of 6 lbs. over the course of my 7 day reboot! I’m pretty impressed. I don’t look or feel like I’ve lost that weight, but it’s still nice to see it on the scale! I  made another mango and orange juice for breakfast and a Not-So-Mean Green Juice. I used two mangoes and three oranges for my breakfast juice, it was perfecto! I also bought another pineapple today, so I’m looking forward to incorporating that into my juices! Yum!

I’m amazed and encouraged by the understanding and support that I’ve received about my decision. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙂

Best Decision For Me

I’ve been praying and seriously considering adding a small light meal to my days. I’ve been doing the Juice Cleanse to improve my health, and also to lose a little weight, but losing weight wasn’t my top priority and my body has been struggling. I literally can’t get a thing done during the day my energy levels are so low. I think I would be much better off if I could keep up with exercise and still juice for 2 of my meals during the day. My biggest concern with this decision is letting people down; I don’t want anyone to think that THEY can’t do it, just because my body can’t handle it.

Some positive things that I am taking away from my experience:

1.  A new appreciation for drinking plenty of water. This is something I really struggled with before my Cleanse.

2. No longer dependent upon getting a sugar fix every day.

3. I will still be juicing for the majority of my meals for the remainder of the 30 days, and then continuing juicing after.

I don’t have any major or minor health problems to start with, but now I can rest assured that my body is getting the nutrients it needs through juicing. I have a tough time eating a handful of spinach and three kale stalks in one sitting, so discovering that I can juice them has been wonderful!

I’m so proud of the progress that everyone is making in their own Juicing Adventure!

Day 7 (Recipe)

It’s almost been a full week since I started the Juice Cleanse! I’ve had the weirdest craving to eat a whole tub of peanut butter and a whole tube of Sour Cream and Onion Pringles, it’s strange because I don’t even like Pringles! I had the hardest time falling asleep last night because of this. I Googled “Food Cravings and what they mean” but all I could find is that I need to eat more fish, nuts, and calorie rich foods. I can definitely understand the calorie rich food. I’m having a really tough time with my Juice Fast. I try to drink as much as juice as I can, but sometimes I don’t have the energy to make one. In the mean time my head is dizzy, and sometimes I see black dots. That’s my warning sign to shape up, and make a juice! As I mentioned in my post yesterday, when I drink a juice with a high fruit percentage I have a spike of energy, during this spike I’ll either try to exercise or my house is falling into chaos, so I try to clean as much as possible. Then I just want to sleep. I sit now way more than I did before, and I lounge because I have no energy.  It gets overwhelming and frustrating sometimes worrying that you’re not getting the nutrients you need, and seeing that your house is a mess but all you can do is stare at it with a blank stare.

For breakfast this morning, I made an Orange and Mango juice, which was fantastic!

  • three oranges (peeled)
  • three mangoes (peeled, pit removed)

When I made this this morning, I only used one of each, and it hardly made anything, so I’ll use three of each when I make it again. Mister and I also juiced a grapefruit + two red apples. We added unflavored seltzer water to the juice, and it was a little bitter, but refreshing. I just learned that seltzer water is nothing more than carbonized water. I have always figured it was full of terrible ingredients for you, similar to soda pop.

For lunch I made the Green Lemonade found on, but don’t be fooled, it doesn’t taste like lemonade whatsoever. >.< Just because something has half a lemon in it, that does not make it lemonade. It’s still just a green juice through and through, much to my disappointment. lol

Day 6 (Recipe)

Time: 1:00pm -It’s day 6 already?? Wow!  Sorry this blog post is so late into the day, it’s been a busy day! I had an eye doctor’s appointment early this morning because it’s been 6 years since my last ‘check up’. My eyes are darn near perfect, thankfully. My left eye is perfect, and my right is only off by a little click. After my appointment, Mister and I ran some errands since we were already in town, and because I didn’t have a chance to do my shopping yesterday. I was at the grocery store trying to think of different greens I could be having in my juices, and I saw arugula and alfalfa sprouts! So I bought a tub of each, along with a bunch of other stuff, and by the time we got home I was hungry. For lunch I made a juice of my own creation, and if you like spicy and sweet depths to a juice, then you may really like this. I loved it! Mister did as well. I give him sips of all the juices I make. He really likes them, and I told him I would start making juices for him as well, but for $10 a glass. My juices are my food so I can’t be sharing half of it, when it’s my meal, unless I plan around making enough for two people. He understands, but he thinks my price is too steep. ;P But without further ado, here is the recipe. I still haven’t come up with a name for it.

  • big handfuls spinach
  • 1 handful arugula
  • 1 big pinch of alfalfa sprouts (or any kind of sprouts)
  • 5 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 1/2-1 cucumber
  • 1 d’anjou pear
  • 1 medium green apple
  • 1 spear pineapple
  • 1 lemon

This recipe made 20-25 fl. oz. I made romaine-sprout sandwiches to get the sprouts down the chute. The spinach and arugula I ball up if I’ve run out of lettuce leaves.

I love that the initial taste is sweet, but then it’s spicy from the arugula. Yum! I’ve drank half of it so far, and saving the rest for a snack in a little bit. Sometimes I feel like I just want a big spoonful of the leftover mashed potatoes in the fridge. ‘Nobody has to know,’ I tell myself. Then I think, ‘I’ll only be hurting myself!’ So I grab a juice and drink. Then I feel better!

Time: 7:15pm -So I’ve noticed a pattern. I drag myself around the house, exhausted, finally find the energy to make a juice, and then half an hour after I drink a juice I AM OFF THE WALLS! Then I crash. Well Mister, who apparently is my own personal nutritionist, really noticed the pattern, and we decided it’s because the juices I am making contain too much fruit and I’ve only been drinking about 2-3 bigger juices a day, instead of the 4-5 smaller ones that I had planned for. In order to kick my fruit dependency I decided I would make a dinner juice which didn’t contain any fruit except a little lime. It was… an experience. The recipe was for Homemade V8 and I found the recipe here, but I didn’t have a couple of the things, so I either omitted them or substituted them. I never liked V*

Homemade V8

  • 4 Plum Tomatoes
  • 1 Large Cucumber
  • 1 Green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup Parsley – leaves & stems
  • 1 Lime

I think if I had had a jalapeño, I would have added that, but it was really missing the red onion that the original recipe calls for. I didn’t have any red onions though. 😦

I certainly missed the fruit, but I’ve got to bite the bullet!

Day 5 (Updated-Recipe)

It’s Day 5 already!

The Time is 10:02: The Good News: I slept like a rock last night. Our house is configured really strangely, our bedroom has a door which leads to the kitchen and a door which leads to the hall. Well, instead of locking the cats upstairs, we slept with earplugs, blocked off the kitchen doorway with a big folding table and blanket, and put two fans by the door to the hallway. Needless to say, I didn’t wake up to pitiful yowling once! Thank goodness! I got some much needed sleep. It was like having an infant, except with a baby they usually just want to be fed or have their diaper changed. This… this was nothing I could help with. lol

The Bad News: It got down to -8*F with a wind chill of -17*F last night, sooooo our pipes leading into the kitchen are frozen, therefore, I have no where to wash my produce! >.< It just seems like it’s been one thing after another. Thankfully, I can still shower! I could probably somehow rig it so I can wash them in the bathroom, but that seems yucky to me. If we can’t thaw the pipes soon, I may end having to do that just so I can get some juice in me and not faint. I know that doing this Juice Cleanse is easily one of the best things I will ever do for my body, so no amount of obstacles are going to stop me!

plan to have a Morning Green Glory for breakfast, because I really enjoy that juice, and I need a pick me up! One of these days everything is going to go according to my perfectly laid out schedule in the sidebar! lol

Time: 11:57 -Pipes are still frozen in the kitchen, but Mister helped me fill some big bowls with water, and I set up a washing station. I’m 3/4 of the way through my Morning Green Glory juice, and I’m starting to feel much better.  My kitten, Hannah, ate a kale leaf that I gave her because she loves fresh veggies. My other cat, Rae, doesn’t like them, but she loves peanut butter. Speaking of peanut butter, I wish I had a nice big spoonful right now. *drools* I guess my food cravings are definitely still with  me! I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, so I didn’t get a chance to go grocery shopping, so I’ll be doing that today. Still haven’t put together a recipe for the rest of the week. I’m stopping at the library though and picking up a book called, “Juice! 101 recipes” and then using that I’ll go from there! I’ll post any really tasting looking recipes I find. I definitely need to start drinking more variety of different colored colored, or I’ll probably cause my body more harm than good. So many recipes call for beets, and I still can’t stomach the taste of them! >.<

Time: 7:10 –I somehow managed to drink my dinner juice on time this evening. Woot woot! I made something that I thought I might like that I haven’t made before. I remember reading a list of fruits and vegetables that are really good for your skin and give it a nice glow. Well, sweet potatoes were on that list, and who doesn’t want glowing skin?!  I know I do! So I made a simple recipe, I’m going to call it Apple-Sweet Potato Juice because that’s all there is in it! haha

Soooo here is my recipe:

  • 2 large garnet yams (sweet potatoes)
  • 2 small or 1 1/2 large gala apples (or pink ladies)

That’s it! I didn’t peel anything, but the yam skins didn’t juice through my juicer. 😦 This recipe made 20 fl. oz. and it was the most gorgeous orange color I’ve ever seen! I drank as much as I could before I started to get kind of sick and tired of the taste, so I put it back in the fridge thinking I’d sip at it later. Well later is now, and I took a sip and thought, “I liked this?!?!” Instead of throwing it out, or giving it to Mister Garbage-Disposal (it’s a term of endearment, I promise. lol) I added a little bit of ground cinnamon, ground ginger and ground nutmeg. It tastes like a baked dessert now. Yummy!

Day 4 (Recipe x2)

Time: 9:40 am -I have a new plan. I’m going to lock my cats in an upstairs room with water and their litter box at night. That may sound merciless, but it’s actually this huge room with empty bunk beds where we store all our stuff, similar to an attic, but it’s a room. It’s usually closed off to them, so when I go in there to do something and they follow me in, they have a blast! So it’s really going to be like a vacation for them, and much needed sleep for me!

I’m just now drinking my breakfast juice, so clearly my schedule is still waaay off track. But thankfully, I am really enjoying my juice. It’s not posted on my Weekly Menu because that is all out of whack as well. I forgot to buy somethings when I went grocery shopping, so now I’m just winging it! I heard about a book called The Juicing Bible, I would definitely suggest checking to see if your library carries the book. I’ve heard good things about it. Unfortunately, my library doesn’t carry it, but they do carry similar books. So if you’re in need of some new inspiration for recipes, then utilize your local library! I love going to the library. One of my dreams is to have a small hobby farm for self sufficiency, so I was checking out 7-8 books at a time. When I wanted to make a fancier quilt than the block ones I’ve made in the past, I checked out 12 books at once! I love knowledge and understanding and filling my head with as much information as I can on as many subjects that matter to me as I can.

But anyways, my breakfast juice recipe for the day is surprisingly good, if you like cabbage, which I happen to love raw cabbage, Mister does as well. I’m going to call this recipe “Bunny Juice”  because bunny rabbits like to nibble on and eat the main ingredients!

Bunny Juice:

  • 5 inch disk of cabbage*
  • 5 leaves of romaine
  • 2 d’anjou pears
  • 1/2 a lemon

*Imagine a head of cabbage that is missing the rounded end (the end opposite of the ‘stem’), I sliced it on this end, where it holds together as a disk, from somewhere towards the middle, or where ever it need be to be roughly this size.

This recipe made 20 fl. oz. and it was a perfect breakfast! It’s simple, yet still delicious. If 2 pears is too much, you can just add one. Green apples would also be delicious in this recipe!

I can’t wait to do my exercising today! Even if I smell absolutely horrendous afterwards! When I start to work up a sweat, I can really tell the detox is doing it’s job. P-U!

Time: 10:33 – This is just what everyone wants to hear about, I know! I’ve been feeling really gassy this morning, and I thought to myself, “Hmmm… this one feels a little different rumbling around inside.” So just to be cautious I went down to the restroom. All I can say is, if you’ve seen Bucket List you may know what I’m thinking, if you haven’t here is a clip. Pay particular attention to the third life lesson that he mentions (the second one is crude, and the rest of the clip has nothing to do with what I’m trying to say. But I couldn’t find a shorter clip. Sorry.) This is especially important if you work in an office.

Now I promise I wont talk about it anymore for today! I just wanted to be pass on some helpful advice! lol

Time: 11:06 -So I just realized, after having read a question someone posted in the forums, that when I made Mister’s granola yesterday I licked a maple syrup drop off the bottle! I hadn’t even thought a single thing of it. I just always do it when a drip falls. I made this blog so that I would be accountable for things like that though. Now if I come back on here and say that I ate a whole bowl of pasta, somebody slap me! lol

Time: 3:00 -I was feeling light headed this afternoon after doing my exercises so I immediately made myself a juice and took 3 quart sized mason jars and filled them with water. I’ll leave them on the counter and make sure each day that I drink all 3 of them, as a minimum! I have a terrible habit of not thinking to drink enough water, but I read the tip of pre-measuring your water for the day in the morning over in the rebootwithjoe forums, I think Kim might have said it. It has really helped!

I really like the taste of juices that have a lot of fruit but I worry about drinking too much of the fruit sugars. So for my lunch/midafternoon snack, I made myself a juice that I’ll call ‘Bottoms Up.’ It is the most unappetizing color, and consists mainly of veggies, so I really have to close my eyes and not think about it as I drink it! It helps to drink it through a straw as well. If you like veggie juices then you wont have a problem with this one!

Bottoms Up:

  • 3 stalks of kale
  • 1/8 cup fresh parsley
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 pear

This recipe made 20 fl. oz. and so far I’ve drank half of it. I’m struggling with it though, so I may juice half of a pineapple spear and add that to it. If I were to make it again, I would use half of a pear and half of a granny smith apple. It’s just missing a dimension of tartness.

Time: 5:50 -Mister is currently sitting right next to me, eating the most delicious smelling homemade Chinese dumplings that we get from a local hole-in-the-wall Asian Food Market. My tummy is gruuumbling. I think to myself, “Just a little bite… please, just one little bite.” Mister is really good about refusing me, and helping me. I may want to tear his head off for it sometimes, but I know I’m not really going to eat it anyways. I’m drinking another Bottoms Up with the addition of half an apple, and half a pineapple spear. It’s still not really doing it for me, but it’s palatable. I’ll probably make another juice this evening with some sweet potato and split it with Mister, I’m worried I haven’t been drinking enough juice with my schedule being thrown off track. I can’t wait until bed time tonight, I feel so tired. So if you’re not on a super energy high during this Juice Cleanse, don’t worry, you’re not the only one! lol It could also be attributed to my lack of sleep though. We’re seriously considering getting out cats fixed. We feel like zombies today. Except I don’t want to eat brrrraaaaaaiiiiiiins! 😛

Day 3

It’s Day 3 already!

Time: 11:12 –I feel like my schedule has been thrown out the window these past two days. I’m just now drinking my breakfast juice and I’ve felt like I was going to pass out all morning. I have two cats, one is really still a kitten, but the older of the two is ‘in heat’ for the first time, and good grief, she has kept us up all night, for two nights in a row, with her howling! I told my husband, “Either I’m going to kill her or lock her outside.” I did neither, of course. It was just incredibly frustrating. As a result, I’ve been waking up around 8:00/8:30, which is 2 hours off schedule! I’ve also been trying to make the days worth of juices first thing in the morning, but I just don’t think it’s going to work. At least not until I start feeling more energy from juicing. I am just so burned out. I need to make my breakfast juice and then drink my breakfast juice, for a couple days at least. If you have to travel for work in the morning and therefore have to make all your juices in the morning, I am so sorry. You are amazing in my eyes!

For my breakfast juice I am drinking My Glass is Greener, it’s pretty sweet, so I may add less pineapple and more green veggies the next time I make it. It is delicious though, don’t get me wrong. I just feel guilty drinking it because it’s so sweet. Does that make sense? lol

You know what amazes me? How do dirty dishes pile up so fast?? Every time I turn around there’s a stack of dishes needing to washed! Thankfully, we have a dishwasher, her name is Lauren. lol

Mister and I have another dinner to go to tonight. We started watching a marriage video with follow up discussion questions with another couple that we’re really close with. It’s been really nice. We alternate each week going from one house to the other, and making dinner for everyone then starting the video! I reminded my friend that I was on my Juice Cleanse and she completely understood, in fact she wishes she could only drink juice. Her family is bone thin though, and they eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, so I think it may actually be the death of them if they tried the Juice Cleanse.

My paper straw is getting soggy in my juice, I should focus on drinking it! lol

I hope everyone’s day is going well so far!

Time: 10:06 – Well, I’m already half an hour past my desired bedtime. But I recently got home from dinner at a friend’s house, where they had pasta with spaghetti sauce and it smelled sooooo good! I promised myself I would have a big ol’ plate of pasta when I was done with my fast, and then reminded myself that it’s eating habits like that, that got me here in the first place. Grrrr! Now my sweet Mister is popping himself some popcorn, which is one of my all time favorite snacks! He’s so thoughtful. >.< We pop our own in a cast iron dutch oven in a little bit of organic virgin coconut oil. It is heavenly! Then sprinkle on a little bit of sea salt and badaboom-badabing! We’re popcorn hobo’s, because we can eat a ho-bo (whole bowl). If you say it right it’s funny. But over a blog it doesn’t come across the same… I wasn’t even hungry, for a change, until I smelled the popcorn. I wish I could juice the taste of bowl of popcorn. Yum?

I can’t wait until he’s done eating, then I’m going to bed, and I’m sleeping with earplugs tonight so that I don’t have to hear that darn cat! >.<

End of Day 3! Woohoo! 😀

Day 2 (Updated-1) (Non-Juicers Recipe)

Woohoo! Day 2, baby!

Time: 11:13 am -I hope others are having a better time staying on schedule than I am. I’m just now drinking my breakfast juice. I have been starving all morning, but our septic is still being a pain, so the kitchen sink wont drain, which makes washing fruits, veggies and dishes a million times harder. I have been feeling tired and drained because I haven’t put any liquids into my body until now. On a plus note, the sun is shining, it’s a beautiful cold winter’s day, and I’m feeling better the more juice I drink!

Time: 1:05 pm -Today is all out of whack. I still haven’t exercised for the day. I’m waiting until I can shower afterwards, Mister just ran into town to get some things to hopefully solve our water problems. Let me tell you, if I could help it, I wouldn’t even want to be near me. I can definitely smell that this detoxing is working! lol. TMI? Thankfully I have some Maple Walnut Pecan Granola baking in the oven so that Mister has some variety for breakfast, and I don’t have to smell eggs cooking every morning. *drools* The smell is intoxicating! I’ll post the recipe for those of you that have non-juicers in your family, and want to have something on hand that they can eat with some milk.

Maple Walnut Pecan Granola

  • 3 C thick rolled oats
  • 1 C mix of walnuts and pecans
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 C maple syrup
  • 1 Tb. vanilla extract
  • 3 Tb. oil

Preheat over to 325*F. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, and the wet ingredients in a liquid measuring cup. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix thoroughly. Spread the mixture out on a lightly sprayed baking sheet. I use two pyrex dishes, rather large ones. Bake for 15 min. then stir around, spread out, and bake 10 min. more. Allow to cool, and keep in an airtight container.

I sweeten most everything with maple syrup. We burn through the stuff, where as white sugar takes forever to get through! We get our maple syrup from a Mennonite family, it’s minimally processed, and the best I’ve ever had! I make just about everything that we eat at home from scratch, so it’s nice to have something that you can make ahead for breakfast for non-juicers.

Time: 3:21 pm -Finally got the water situation figured out and under control. I feel like my day can finally start. I have a stack of dishes begging to be washed, and more dirty laundry than she be allowed. My lunch/midafternoon snack was delicious though. I made Ode to Broccoli, with the changes that I suggested, and I enjoyed it!

Time: 6:30 pm -Well, the kitchen is finally clean, the dishes are washed, and I’m finishing up some laundry now. I’ve had my dinner juice, and I’m amazed at how much better I feel once I drink some juice! My body feels achy and tired but that’s probably due to my intense workout yesterday. Definitely wont be pushing myself too hard in the future. I have had a lot of hunger pangs today, which is understandable, considering I’m not giving my body the millions of calories it’s grown used to receiving! As a result of being hungry, I’ve felt sluggish and my neck aches, so I’m hoping things turn around soon! I have been “regular” though, if you know what I mean by that. I wont get into details, but I know some people have problems with that. Oh, and I’ve never had to pee so much in my life! lol Ahem, anyways… I’m tempted to weigh myself in the morning to see if I’ve lost any weight within 2 days, but I don’t want to discourage myself if I haven’t so I’ll either wait a little longer, or wait the full week!

Day Two is almost over!

Day 1 thus far (end of the day -Updated-)

Original Post:

So it’s almost 5:30pm here and all I want to do is eat a cheeseburger, take a 30 day long nap and wake up 20 lbs lighter at the end of it! lol

Wishful thinking… >.<

I do feel absolutely drained and exhausted today. Having stayed up late last night, gotten up early, done an hour of cardio this morning, and grocery shopped, my body is beet! I mean beat.*  I also didn’t like the Carbeeple Juice so I haven’t been drinking as much today as I should be, and I’m off schedule in that I’m waiting to drink my dinner juice later than planned.

It is amazing though, I never realized how much I would miss solid food, and the simple act of chewing. I’ve been clenching my jaw all day and now my teeth ache because of it! *Grumble grumble grumble*

I’ll try not to bellyache too much though. lol I’m just keeping it real. Everyone that has done juicing before says that the first few days are the hardest! So let’s stay strong and stick with it!

If only I didn’t have a pecan pie baking in the oven for a dinner party tonight, I think it’d be easier to stay strong… lol My whole house smells like comfort and temptation.

But I’m armed with my Not-so-Mean Green Juice for tonight’s dinner, so I’m prepared, because let me tell you it is delicious! It’s my favorite Green Recipe so far! I actually wouldn’t change a thing about it. So that’s got to say something for it!

It is now about 9:45 and while my body is definitely tired, I no longer feel hungry. It made a world of difference to drink my dinner juice. It sure was hard to just drink my juice this evening though when I had a spread of food before me. Stuffed shells… bread… salad… corn… pecan pie… ice cream… Lordy, it looked and smelled soooo good. But I just patiently drank my juice, and enjoyed the company.

I actually started to prefer my juice over the thought of a slice of pecan pie. I just remembered how sweet it had been when I’d made it before, and the thought was strangle unpleasant. That means a lot coming from me! I used to be a homemade cookie every time I went grocery shopping to the Coop a couple towns over. Earlier today, when I was there I desperately wanted one, but I just got what I needed and got out! Now this evening, I could careless about them! Strange how our bodies work and react.

I had mentioned in my post about this morning that I had done an hours worth of cardio, well it’s been brought to my attention that I am pushing my body too hard when this is a time when it’s trying to heal itself. So I’ll definitely dial that back to half and hour, max. I noticed in my goals that I have listed to do half an hour exercise each day, so I’m not sure why I thought I had said one hour…

But anywho… so a quick moment of life’s reality: this juicing is making me so gassy! lol. Ok, that’s all. 😛

I can’t wait to go to bed tonight! I haven’t been meeting my bedtime schedule, so I’ll have to work on that. Six o’clock comes around real quick!

Tomorrow begins Day Two! Good night for now!
